Early Head Start visits the library

Our Early Head Start team joined Wellington Public Library’s Raising Readers Storytime this morning to share the fun fall tale “Meowl-o-ween.” Children listened, danced, and crafted their way through the session — finishing with a tasty kitty-cat face snack made from tortillas, yogurt, fruit, and carrot whiskers!

A big thank-you to Toni Cliffman, children’s librarian at WPL, for partnering with us for this paws-itively fun morning.

If your library or community program would like to host our Early Head Start team for a future storytime, reach out to Lynn at Futures.

Early Head Start serves families across Sumner County, offering:

  • Weekly home visits to support parents as their child’s first teacher
  • Playgroups and early learning activities
  • Connections to community resources and parent support

Celebrating Community. Connection. Care. During DSP Week — September 7-13, 2025

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the unsung heroes in the lives of individuals with disabilities. They are the heart of daily support and engagement — helping people participate in ordinary moments like getting to church, going to a football game, or running errands — often without seeking the spotlight themselves. Their work is deeply rooted in community, built through caring connections, and driven by compassion and respect.

That’s why DSP Recognition Week, September 7-13, 2025, is such an essential time. It’s our moment to recognize and applaud the invaluable contributions DSPs make every day.

If you’re looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference in people’s lives, consider becoming a DSP. To learn more, visit www.futures-unlimited.org/careers.
