Family fun is an important component to all our programs ages 0-5. For families enrolled in Early Head Start, home visitors involve families in fun activities to promote their little one’s growth and development. They follow Frog Street’s Love & Learn Curriculum – Birth to Three. For example, early childhood professionals may use a lesson plan that details age-appropriate homemade painting fun with a list of creative painting projects to involve the whole family. Activities may include making the paint, finding and using homemade objects for brushes and completing art projects using finger paint or shaker paint.
Additionally, Early Head Start families are invited to monthly play group experiences and outings in the community including Futures playground, local parks and the Wellington Family Aquatic Center.

This is such an exciting time of learning for 3-5 year olds. Each day the child builds upon the previous day’s learning. Because a child gains at such a fast rate at this age, we have built in “check points” to measure their progress throughout their year and gauge their school readiness. It’s a great way to measure and share with parents the ways their child has grown during their time at preschool and show how it benefits them as they continue on their journey toward kindergarten.
